About
My name is Michael Nicholson, and I am running to serve the residents of Belfast, Northport, and Belmont in the Maine State House, District 39. I am “from away,” having been born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. In 2016, I relocated here with my wife of 14 years, a fourth-generation Mainer.
I am the President of Lighthouse Appraisal 195, LLC, where I work as a Certified Real Estate Appraiser. I also own and operate MJN Contracting Maine as a General Contractor, hiring local tradespeople for new builds, remodels, and renovation projects. Both businesses were established with the goal of providing essential services to the community while offering stable employment opportunities for local workers. Together, they play an important role in supporting and revitalizing the housing market in Waldo County. I also currently serve as a member of the Belfast Board of Assessment Review.
I’m running for the Maine State House, District 39, because I’ve seen the community I care deeply about begin to feel the impact of decisions made over the past seven years. With one party controlling the House, Senate, and Governor’s Office during that time, I believe those policies have contributed to the financial strain many Mainers are facing today. If elected, I will take this fight to Augusta working tirelessly to roll back harmful policies and put us back on a path to recovery.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
