Property Tax Reduction
Property taxes have surged over the past three years for two main reasons: property revaluations and ever-growing operating budgets funded by taxpayers. In office, I will show up to budget meetings and hold the line ensuring increases stay within state limits and that every dollar is justified.
Fiscal Responsibility
Taxpayers are being asked to pay more while key financial information remains difficult to access. That’s unacceptable. We need full transparency from the county, our towns, and RSU 71. I will use my rights under the Freedom of Information Act to obtain these records and conduct an independent annual review because if officials are going to spend your money, they should be accountable for every dollar.
Exposing Fraud
Maine is making national headlines for the wrong reasons, including serious concerns about fraud in public programs. That’s unacceptable. I will support statewide audits to root out waste and fraud, hold bad actors accountable, and protect taxpayer dollars. When we stop the waste, we can start bringing costs down.
Reduce Energy Costs
Energy bills are too high, period. I will fight to expand affordable energy supply, cut red tape that drives up costs, and support practical solutions that lower your monthly bill. We need an energy policy that works for ratepayers, not one that makes life more expensive.
Attend Budget Meetings
Accountability doesn’t happen behind closed doors, it happens in the room. I’ll be at small-town budget meetings, watching where your money goes, asking tough questions, and making sure spending stays under control. If it affects your taxes, it deserves real oversight.
Support Local Businesses
As a business owner myself, I understand the challenges local businesses face; rising costs, complex regulations, and uncertainty. As your state representative, I’ll work to cut red tape, keep taxes reasonable, and create a stable environment where small businesses can grow and succeed. Strong local businesses mean good jobs and stronger communities.
